Things to Do on a Budget in Monmouth & Ocean Counties this February 2025

Love is in the air, and you might be looking for some fun ways to enjoy spending time with your loved ones this February. Although the cold might make you think twice about leaving the house, here are some free or inexpensive activities to enjoy in Monmouth and Ocean Counties all month long. 

February 1

Winter Fire & Ice Celebration (Cream Ridge) will take place at the New Egypt Flea Market on February 1st from 10am-7pm and February 2nd from 8am-4pm. You can enjoy ice sculptures and demonstrations, cozy fire pits, food trucks and wine tastings (for attendees 21+), local vendors, and more. February 2

Valentine’s Pop-Up Makers Market (Asbury Park) – Head over to Porta with your family and friends to enjoy a creative shopping experience from 12pm-4pm. Enjoy food and drinks while you visit the stations of various local artisans selling gifts made with love. Admission is free for all ages. You can find more information here.

February 7

Valentine’s Bazaar (Asbury Park) – Stop by Convention Hall from 3pm-8pm Friday, or 12pm-5pm Saturday, to enjoy all things love. If you are just getting started on your Valentine’s Day shopping, local and regional vendors will be selling gifts that your family, friends, or special someone will be sure to cherish. There will also be live music, food and beverages, a Valentine’s Day photo wall, a fresh flower bar, kid and pet activities, and more. Admission is free for all ages. Click here to learn more.

February 8

Galentine’s Brunch Event (Point Pleasant Beach) will be hosted by Blooms on Point Floral Boutique from 12pm to 2pm. Along with gushing over your “galentines,” you will have access to a breakfast buffet and charcuterie board, mimosa bar (BYO bubbly), custom box of assorted chocolates, and a 10-minute chair massage or reiki session. Valentine’s Sweet Stroll (Red Bank) is just what the name suggests—an afternoon of walking downtown Red Bank to shop for sweet treats and other vendor items, and enjoy “sweet” experiences, from 11am-2pm. February 9

All About Kids Fair (Toms River) – If you’re looking to help the whole family escape the winter blues, join Toms River Macaroni Kids for their 9th annual fair at Ocean County Mall from 11am-2pm. Parents can meet the faces of local family-friendly businesses while the children are off enjoying activities such as face painting, crafts, character appearances, and more. Historic Valentines (Allentown) – Travel back in time at Historic Walnford from 1pm-3pm to discover how penmanship has changed through letters and valentines from the 18th and 19th centuries. In case any of the centuries-old penmanship inspired you, the session will end with creating a valentine or letter of your own using historically-inspired materials. Winter Fresh Farmers Market (Ocean Grove) will allow you to shop your favorite Asbury Fresh food vendors from the comfort of the warm indoors at the Jersey Shore Arts Center from 10am-1pm. Allaire Flea Market (Wall) – The Historic Village at Allaire wants to bring you out of the house with a chance to hunt for bargains from 8am-2pm. This flea market will feature vintage treasures, thrifted items, books, art work, knick knacks, and more. February 16

MAC’s Art of Chili Cook Off (Middletown) – Whether you love chili or love some good ol’ friendly competition, check out the Chili Cook Off at Middletown Arts Center from 12pm-2pm. The fifteen amateur and five restaurant contestants will prepare chili and battle it out for first, second, and third place prizes. Singo Game Night (Manahawkin) – Unleash your inner “theater kid” at the Bay Avenue Community Center at 5pm. This game night will put you to the test by challenging you to recall all the showtunes you know. Admission is $10 per person. There will be food and drinks available for purchase. February 19

Bingo Dinner Party (Union Beach) – Dinner paired with any activity is sure to be fun, so bring your friends and family down to The Goat by David Burke, to enjoy a night of dinner and bingo. February 22

Polar Bear Plunge (Seaside Heights) – If you’re not afraid to jump into the frigid waters of the Atlantic in the spirit of supporting the Special Olympics of New Jersey, register for the Annual Polar Bear Plunge. Registration is $25 with different fundraising tiers; however, your $25 registration fee is counted toward your fundraising goal. If plunging isn’t your speed, you can dress up, join other spectators on the boardwalk, and cheer the plungers on. February 28

Family Fun Friday (Point Pleasant Beach) – When the workday is over, let the fun start at Jenkinson’s Aquarium from 5pm to 8pm. Enjoy family fun with a scavenger hunt, crafts, and a bedtime story with one of Jenkinson’s beloved animals. These activities are included in a general admission ticket, so you can visit Jenkinson’s aquatic friends between activities. Admission prices are $18 per adult (ages 12+), $12 for children ages 3-11, and children age 2 and under are free. You can buy aquarium tickets and learn more about the event here.

January 3

LuminoCity Holiday Lights Festival (Freehold) – If you’re looking for a last-minute way to enjoy the end of the holiday season, LuminoCity’s Holiday Lights Festival will be at Freehold Raceway Mall from 4:30pm-10:30pm through January 5th. As the sun sets, you can walk through a whimsical holiday light display inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Ticket prices vary by date and time slot, along with age group of the participant. January 5

Fun Bags Cornhole Goes Country (Toms River) – Bring your friends and family down to Fun Bags Cornhole Lounge for a night of cornhole and line dancing from 6pm-9pm. Beginners are welcome, with beginner line dancing lessons starting at 6pm. Tickets are $12 per person in advance of the event, and $13 per person at the door. Winter Hootenanny in the Pines (Waretown) – Albert Music Hall will be welcoming the new year in a musical fashion beginning at 2pm. The lineup features six bands that are set to perform over the course of the afternoon. There will also be a food booth, gift shop, 50/50 drawing, and more. January 12

Parlor Games for Wintry Weather (Holmdel) – Learn how to elevate your next game night with some oldie-but-goodie games, including backgammon, checkers, and dominoes—and some 19th century favorites, too—at Historic Longstreet Farm from 12pm-2:30pm. January 13

Pine Barren Bonfires (Freehold) – Break out your winter coat and enjoy a night under the stars at Turkey Swamp Park from 6pm-8pm. The full moon will light up the park as you sit around the bonfire playing games and making s’mores. The cost is $15 per family of four, and it is kindly requested that payment is made with cash or check. More information can be found here.

January 16

Monmouth Park Corporate Center Pop-Up (West Long Branch) – Whether you’re looking to get out of the office or explore what local vendors have to offer, Building A at the Monmouth Park Corporate Center transforms into a bustling market the third Thursday of every month from 11am-4pm. With a variety of vendors selling everything from sweet treats to housewarming gifts, and free admission – you can’t go wrong. You can find more information here.

January 18

Ladacin Plunge (Manasquan) – If you missed an opportunity to welcome in the new year by plunging into frigid waters, you have another chance at Ladacin’s Plunge – beginning at 10:30am. Starting at Leggett’s Sand Bar & Restaurant, there will be a procession to Manasquan Main Beach and a plunge into the icy cold waters of the Atlantic, followed by a buffet at Leggett’s. Penguin Awareness Day at Jenkinson’s Aquarium (Point Pleasant Beach) is a day dedicated to celebrating the world’s penguins. Between 11am-4pm, your general admission ticket includes crafts, activities, and keeper chats that will teach you about all the 18 species of penguins. January 24

Friday Night Oldies (New Egypt) – If you’re looking to get groovy on a Friday night, look no further than Oldies Night at Laurita Winery from 7pm-10pm. The Strictly 60s Band will take you on a trip down memory lane with sounds of the 60s, and you can enjoy the tunes over dinner and wine (for those over 21 years of age). January 25

Showcase @ The Hotel: Dance Party (Freehold) – Bring the dancer in your life to the American Hotel for a night of dancing from 7:30pm-10:30pm. This fundraiser benefits Downtown Freehold directly to keep the town beautiful and bring members of the community together through free events. Pre-sale standard tickets are $25 per person with a two-item purchase, and pre-sale VIP tickets are $35 per person with a two-item purchase. January 26

Hot Cocoa Tours (Holmdel) – If you and your plus-one can brave the crisp winter air, head down to Historic Longstreet Farm from 10am-11:30am for a look into 19th-century farm life. Your morning will begin with a guided tour of the farm and end with hot cocoa and a winter treat in the kitchen. The cost is $10 per person, and children ages 3 and under are free to come along. We can’t think of anything more jolly than free or inexpensive family activities happening in the community this holiday season. Although the temperatures might be dropping, grab your friends and family (and winter coats) to enjoy the countless festive events throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties this December.

December 3

Tree Lighting (Freehold) – Stop by the Annual Christmas Tree lighting at the Hall of Records from 5pm-7pm, with a rain date of Wednesday, December 4th. Not only will there be a free choir performance and hot cider, but the Freehold Fire Department may stop by with a very special holiday guest! Additional information can be found here.

December 4

The Village at Anne Ellen (Manalapan) – Every Wednesday to Sunday through December 30th, Anne Ellen Christmas Tree Farm is creating a magical and enchanting winter wonderland between 5pm-9pm. A nostalgic hayride through Anne Ellen’s Christmas tree fields will captivate you with a 400,000 holiday light show and conclude by dropping you off at a bustling holiday village with houses and displays. Various shops among the quaint village offer you the chance to wrap up some of your holiday shopping, too! Tickets are $22 per adult and $12 per child ages 3-12 and can only be purchased online. December 5

Festival of Trees (Toms River) – Toms River Elks #1875 is welcoming everyone to a gala-style display of beautifully decorated trees and holiday decor from 5pm-9pm. As you walk through the display of trees and Dr. Seuss inspired decorations, you can enjoy the S’mores Bar, light fare and beverages, children’s activities, and a live performance by the Toms River Orchestra. December 6

Asbury Park Holiday Bazaar will take place every weekend (12pm-5pm), including Fridays (3pm-8pm), at Convention Hall and Asbury Park Hotel (select dates) through December 22nd. Consistently rated as one of the best holiday markets in New Jersey, this bazaar will feature handcrafted goods and unique holiday gifts made by vendors from far and wide. Aside from shopping, you and your crew can enjoy photos with Santa, craft workshops, activities for your youngsters, holiday music, and more. Admission is free for all ages. Seaport Holiday Boat Rides (Tuckerton) – Tuckerton Seaport is spreading holiday cheer with one-hour long narrated boat tours on various days through December 21st. The holiday fun doesn’t stop after you learn about holiday traditions of the past and present on your ride through Tuckerton Creek—there are plenty of activities to enjoy once you are back on land. Your admission includes holiday displays, make and take craft areas, an outdoor reindeer scavenger hunt, and more. Holiday Fun with Santa (Neptune) – Stop by the Summerfield Elementary School cafeteria between 10:30am-12pm to enjoy holiday fun with a special guest from the North Pole. Winter Wonderland (Toms River) – Bring your friends and family to Washington Street between 11am-5pm to enjoy the most wonderful time of the year! December 8

Barnyard Celebration (Howell) – Grab your friends and family for a magical afternoon of celebrating Christmas at Liberty Haven Farm from 1pm-4pm. Admission is $10 for adults and $15 for children, with all proceeds benefiting special causes, including providing for their farm animals. Included in admission are pictures with Santa, arts and crafts, a petting zoo, family-friendly games, and donut decorating. Christmas at Allaire (Wall) – On December 8th and 15th from 11am-4pm, join the Historical Village at Allaire for a day of family fun. Arriving at the Historical Village promises to be like stepping into the North Pole—from visits with Santa to stepping back in time to celebrate among live carolers, you are sure to get in the holiday spirit. Tickets are $10 for those ages 2 and older, and includes a visit with Santa, crafts, games, admission to all buildings on site, and more. Holiday Market (Howell) – Visit Echo Lake Park from 10am-2pm for a shopping experience that promises to bring you some holiday cheer! December 12

Old Fashioned Christmas (Wall) – Allaire Community Farm is turning their farm into a life-sized seasonal village once again, and you can visit Thursdays-Sundays from 4pm-8pm through December 29th. Sporting thousands of holiday lights, visits with Santa, a Model Train House, petting zoos, and more—you’ll truly feel like you are at the North Pole. December 15

Pine Barren Bonfires (Freehold) – Warm up around a bonfire at Turkey Swamp Park from 6-8pm. The park will be lit up by a full moon as you enjoy games and s’mores around the fire. Holiday Evening Stroll (Wall) – Use one of your last chances to get into the holiday spirit by taking a stroll at the Historic Village at Allaire between 6-9pm. Additionally, the Allaire Bakery and General Store will be open in case you’re looking for some odds and ends to tie up your holiday shopping. Brunch with Santa (Freehold) will take place at the American Hotel from 10am-3pm. Santa will be making a guest appearance, so be sure to bring your wish lists and an empty stomach to enjoy the various brunch specialties. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (732) 431-3220.

December 26

Menorah Lighting (Howell) – The Howell Municipal Building will have a Menorah Lighting beginning at 5:30pm. In addition to lighting the Menorah, there will be free hot drinks and pastries for all who attend. Additional information can be found here.

Christmas Train Village (Spring Lake) – Come down to Duggan Hall on Washington Avenue from 12pm-5pm through December 31st to view the holiday train display. The holiday train display encapsulates the holiday spirit, and with admission being free-of-charge—you won’t find a more inexpensive way to stay merry this month! You can find more information here.

Twilight Fun Run/Walk & Party (Manasquan) – Think about your New Year’s Resolutions for 2025 over a fun 2.5 mile run or walk, starting at Leggett’s Sand Bar at 4pm. This event promises to help you start the New Year on a good “foot,” with a buffet and party with all participants afterward. The Twilight Fun Run costs $35 per runner/walker, or $20 for those just looking to join in on the fun at the Twilight Party afterwards. Registration and additional information can be found here.

Although your Thanksgiving feast is around the corner, we want you to feast your eyes on these free or inexpensive activities to enjoy with your family and friends this November. We hope this list gives you some ways to spice up the month amidst all the holiday preparation!

November 1

Legends & Lore Boat Tour (Tuckerton) – If you haven’t quite been spooked this Halloween, you have another chance by visiting Tuckerton Seaport for a Halloween-themed, family-friendly boat ride along Tuckerton Creek starting at 4pm. Admission is $16 per person, and includes a narrated boat tour of hauntings and legends of the Jersey Shore and Pinelands, admission to the museum buildings (including climbing the lighthouse), crafts in the Folklife Center, a pumpkin decoration station, and more. With all these activities, you won’t want to miss it—and you have opportunities all weekend long through November 3rd at 5pm. November 2

Fall Fest & Fishing Tournament (Manahawkin) – Join the Maximilian Foundation at Manahawkin Elks Lodge #2340 from 12pm-6pm for their 8th annual Fall Fest & Fishing Tournament. Enjoy the crisp autumn air with your loved ones by checking out craft vendors, local bands, a magician act, a bouncy house for little ones, and more! Admission is free for all ages, and you can learn more here.

Hoofy’s Fall Fest (Barnegat) will be held in the field adjacent to the Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company Station 11 from 11am-7pm, with a rain date of Sunday, November 3rd. There are countless family friendly activities to enjoy – such as a cornhole tournament, children’s inflatables, live music, food trucks, and more. Admission is $10 per person. Jersey Devil Show (Waretown) – To celebrate New Jersey’s favorite urban legend, Albert Music Hall is hosting a night of haunting music, with doors opening at 5pm and performers taking the stage at 6pm. Five different bands and performers headline the evening, and the venue is selling dinner, desserts, and beverages to enjoy between sets. Admission is $6 per person, and $1 for children 12 and under. Soup and Sip (Colts Neck) – Join 4JG Orchards & Vineyards from 12pm-5pm for their 4th annual Soup and Sip, where guests (ages 21+) are treated to soup and wine pairings. November 8

First Responders’ Teddy Bear Clinic (Hazlet) – Local first responders are hosting a Teddy Bear Clinic from 4:30pm-5:30pm at the James J. Cullen Center, giving your little one the chance to bring their teddy bear in for a check-up and become comfortable with first responders should an emergency ever occur. Attendees will learn about different local first responders and basic first aid procedures, as your child’s teddy bear undergoes them! Click here to learn more.

Jersey Shore Restaurant Week runs from Friday, November 8th through Sunday, November 17th, and features more Jersey Shore fan-favorites than ever before. For $32.24 or $42.24, you can get a 3-course meal consisting of an appetizer, dinner, and dessert at participating restaurants. November 9

Fall Craft Show (Tinton Falls) – Head over to the Fort Monmouth Recreation Center from 9am-2pm to check out specialty items, such as jewelry, crocheted/knitted items, and glassware – from over 40 unique vendors. Admission is free, so bring the whole family along to find unique gifts or get gift-giving inspiration just in time for the holidays! You can find additional information here.

Holiday Craft & Vendor Show (Wall) – The Historic Village at Allaire is hosting over 140 crafters, artisans, exhibits, and demonstrations from 10am-3pm to bring the holiday spirit to town! You will get a chance to see the work of local artists, as well as watch demonstrations from the carpenter, blacksmith, and tinsmith shops—to name a few. Admission is $5 for those 6 years old and up. November 10

Family Candy Bingo (Hazlet) will take place from 2pm-4pm at the James J. Cullen Center. Bring the whole family to maximize your chances of winning Bingo—and the candy prizes that come along with it! If you would like to increase the pot, bring some candy to turn in when you buy your bingo boards. Registration is required, and there is a fee of $3 for those 4 years old and older. Hot Rod Harvest Festival and Car & Truck Show (Lacey) – Stop by Murray Grove with your family, friends, and furry friends from 9am-3pm to check out unique cars and fall activities. This event promises to be fun for the whole family with a wide array of cars old and new, a DJ/live music, vendors, and a competition to show off your pets for a chance to win a special award! November 16

Outrageous Reptiles (Belmar) – The Belmar Public Library is calling all animal lovers to Taylor Pavilion at 11am for a morning of learning about various reptiles, with an opportunity to see some them in person! Knowledgeable keepers will be present to teach you about some of the most fascinating reptiles in the animal kingdom and answer some of your most pressing questions. Admission is free, however, registration is required to attend. It is important to note that attendees will not be able to directly interact with the reptiles for the safety of themselves and the animals. Rock to Fight Alzheimer’s (Neptune City) – Head over to Headliner Oasis from 1:30pm-6pm for an afternoon of rocking out while bringing awareness and raising funds to combat Alzheimer’s. Your $20 ticket includes an opportunity to see all four bands headlining the event. There will also be a 50/50 cash raffle, gift basket raffle, and door prizes. November 17

5K Turkey Trot & 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk (Howell) – Bring your family and friends down to Oak Glen Park for a morning of walking or running through the crisp autumn air, with race day check-in starting at 8am and the race kicking off at 9am. Pre-registration is required to participate in the 5K or 2 mile fun run/walk and costs $25/participant. The 5K course is trail-style. You can find additional information here.

November 23

Give Thanks Food Truck Festival (New Egypt) – Laurita Winery is welcoming family and friends of all ages to check out their grounds and food trucks on Saturday, November 23rd (11am-9pm) and Sunday, November 24th (11am-7pm). Adults (ages 21+) can pair delicious wines with various food offerings from the food trucks that will be onsite. Those under 21 are welcome to enjoy the food and music, but must be supervised by an adult. Tickets purchased in advance are $13, with tickets being $15 at the gate. Granny’s Attic Craft Show (Middletown) is returning for its 43rd year at Thompson Middle School from 9am-4pm. Boasting as one of the largest craft shows on the East Coast, Granny’s Attic brings together over 250 vendors and crafters selling unique items, right in time for the holidays. By attending, you can also participate in a 50/50 raffle and a $1,000 Visa gift card raffle. Harvest Fest (Lacey) will take place at the Lacey United Methodist Church from 9am-2pm, featuring holiday photos with Santa from 10am-1pm. November 30

Victorian Holiday Open House with Santa & Mrs. Claus (Toms River) – Get in the holiday spirit with your loved ones by meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Ocean County Historical Society from 10am-3pm, with pictures with our friends from the North Pole taking place from 11am-2pm. The Victorian style house will be complete with holiday decorations and music playing within, holiday-themed refreshments, and gifts for the children attending. It’s spooky how many free and inexpensive activities there are to enjoy with your family and friends this October. We promise this list is full of treats and absolutely no tricks!

October 1

Pick-Your-Own Pumpkins & Apples (Colts Neck) – Every weekday from 9am-4:30pm, and every weekend from 9am-5:30 pm through October 31st, join Eastmont Orchards for apple and pumpkin picking. Admission is free and you will only pay for what you pick. Eastmont Orchards encourages visitors to check their social media or call ahead before visiting, as well as bring their own bags. October 5

Fall Harvest Festival Arts & Crafts Show (Ocean Grove) will take place from 10am-4pm at Auditorium Square Park, rain or shine. This event will feature crafts, art, live music, and food. Admission is free. Additional information can be found here.

Oktoberfest (Seaside) – Island Beach State Park welcomes you to celebrate fall at Oktoberfest, taking place at Swimming Area 1 for the entire day. For a suggested donation of $8 – you can bring your family, friends, and furry friends on a leash – to enjoy food, brews (ages 21+), vendors, live music, and a pet costume parade and contest. October 6

Oktoberfest (Freehold) – Freehold Borough will be shutting down West Main Street so you and your family can enjoy a wide array of activities from 12pm-5pm. Oktoberfest will bring together the community to celebrate Bavarian culture through unique vendors, food, games and more. The Beer Garden will have tables and seating to enjoy the fare, and there will be live music on the Main Stage and in the Beer Garden throughout the day. October 7

Teen Pumpkin Painting (Howell) – The Howell Branch of the Monmouth County Library System invites your 6th-12th graders to paint a pumpkin from 7pm-8pm. While the pumpkin and materials are supplied, registration is required since there are limited spaces available. October 8

Fall Flavor of Freehold – From 5pm-8pm join in an evening of exploring what the downtown area has to offer. You’ll be equipped with an event passport to use as a guide, as you embark on your walking tour to check out the restaurants, bars, and shops. Tickets are $25 per person, and they come with signature samples of what some of these beloved Freehold Borough establishments have to offer. October 12

Fall Arts & Crafts Festival (Middletown) will take place from 10am-4pm at the Middletown Arts Center. This inaugural event will feature local artisans and crafters, food trucks, and more for the whole family to enjoy. Admission is free, with free parking for visitors across the street. Fall Food Truck Festival (Neptune City) – Head over to Memorial Park for a day of family fun at the 3rd Annual Fall Food Truck Festival. While admission is free, local food trucks will be selling refreshments, and there will be beer/wine to purchase for tasters 21+. Aside from the food and beverages, there are still plenty of free activities to enjoy – such as live music, games, a petting zoo, a light show, and more. Learn more here.

October 13

Halloween Fun Fest (Long Beach Island) will take place October 13th from 10am-2pm and October 19th from 4pm-8pm at Fantasy Island Amusement Park. There are countless family friendly activities to enjoy, including a trick or treat trail, pumpkin patch, costume contest, face painter, family photos, and more. Select rides, boardwalk games, and the arcade will be open. Tickets are $15/adult and $20/child (ages 1-17) and includes a $10 Fun Card and access to all activities. October 19

Halloween Bonfire & Doggie Costume Contest (Hazlet) will take place at Leocadia Court Park from 4pm-8pm (rain date is Sunday, October 20th). Although it is free to come enjoy the bonfire and Halloween activities with your family and friends, Hazlet encourages you (and your dog!) to wear your Halloween costume. There will be a Howl-o-ween doggie costume contest as well. You can find more information here.

Harvest Festival (Little Egg Harbor) – Get in the fall spirit at the Harvest Festival, taking place from 10am-4pm at Pinelands Regional High School. Admission is free for all ages, and you’ll want to take advantage of it with all of the fun family activities taking place throughout the day. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Howell) will be told at the Howell Branch of the Monmouth County Library System at 6pm. This one-man-show will feature the classic horror tale and a fully staged presentation sure to entertain all ages, followed by a short historical information session and light refreshments. Trunk or Treat (Wall Township) – The Annual Trunk or Treat will take place rain or shine in the Wall Municipal Complex Parking Lot from 6pm-8pm. Bring your family and friends from infants to 13 years old, to check out the decorated trunks, show off your best Halloween costume, and go trick or treating. Admission is free. October 25

Halloween Hullabaloo (Middletown) – Join Middletown for a spook-tacular night of Halloween fun at Poricy Park from 5:30pm-8pm. The Hullabaloo will feature a costume contest, trick or treating, hayrides, an inflatable corn maze, and more. Admission is free for residents, and registering prior to the event is recommended here. Halloween Event (Ocean Grove) – Join Ocean Grove in celebrating Halloween a few days early from 1pm-3pm. Head on over to Main Avenue for free trick or treating, Halloween crafts and festivities, and a photobooth. 1830s All Hallows Eve Trick-or-Treating Celebration (Wall Township) – Ever wondered how they celebrated Halloween in the 19th century? You don’t have to wonder any longer after attending this event at the Historic Village at Allaire from 11am-4pm. This event allows you to step back in time while still enjoying the Halloween activities of today, including live demonstrations, spooky storytelling, craftmaking, and a carved pumpkin contest. Jacks and Lights (Lacey) – Celebrate the spirit of the season from 6pm-9pm at Argos Farm, when you walk through a trail of hundreds of lit jack o’ lanterns carved into amazing designs. September 11

Bell Works Fresh Farmers & Makers Market (Holmdel) will feature fresh produce and unique creations. Happening every Wednesday of September from 11am-4pm, this is a great place to explore handcrafted goods, and support the local community. Learn more here.

Fall Concert Series (Freehold) at the Hall of Records every Wednesday in September from 7:30pm-9:30pm. Bring the family out to enjoy an evening of live music, and discover both new and widely known local talent. Check out the schedule and voices here.

September 13

Bonfires on the Beach (Asbury Park) will take place from 7pm-10pm every Friday night during September, weather permitting. The 9/13 bonfire will be at First Avenue Beach. Check the schedule online for other dates and locations through the end of September.

Italian Festival (Englishtown) join the Italian American Association of Monmouth County at their Italian Festival from 6pm-10pm. Taking place all weekend long through September 15th, this festival features rides for the whole family to enjoy, games, food, live entertainment, and more. A Tribute to All Things Broadway (Lincroft) takes place from 2pm-3:30 pm & 7pm-8:30pm. Bring the family for a day of appreciating Broadway without having to leave New Jersey! Climb Time (Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park in Long Branch) – If you are looking for an adventurous family-friendly activity, head over to Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park for climb time. Open to ages 8+ (those under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult) and 42” or taller, you can try the 25’ portable climbing wall for free. Check it out on the Monmouth County calendar.

September 21

Allaire State Park Fall Harvest Festival (Wall) – If you are looking for a chance to get in the fall spirit, look no further than the Fall Harvest Festival, taking place from 11am-4pm both Saturday and Sunday, 9/22 at the Allaire Historic Village. Stop by to enjoy live music, live demonstrations, craft vendors, an apple pie baking contest, apple cider pressing, and more. Tickets are $10/adult and $5/child (ages 4-12, 3 and under are free). Howell Day & Green Fair – Join the Township of Howell from 3pm-8pm at Soldier Memorial Park for this fun for the whole family event. Kids Day America (Wall Township) is from 10am-2pm in the Court Yard at the Wall Municipal Building. This is the 21st annual event dedicated to children’s health, safety, prevention, and environmental awareness.
